That's the basics, but quite honestly, I dislike referring to my life as a timeline
of events and accomplishments in the third person, so I'm going to put the formalities
aside and get to the real me - I'm an honest & dependable guy, with a good work
ethic. To me, what is important is enjoying the work that I do and leaving behind
a reputation that I can be proud of.
What a good reputation means to me:
- When it comes to my work, it means listening & being receptive to a client's
ideas and treating them respectfully. In my experience, people are far more receptive
to being told things that they don't want to hear than they are to being given promises
that aren't kept. People want & deserve honesty. When deadlines are set, they
need to be met. Perhaps, in my young age, I'm old-fashioned, but if someone asks
me if I can do a job, I'll give them a straight answer. If I commit to a deadline,
I'll stay up until the early hours of the morning making sure the job is done well
& on time. Artistically, I view my job as being the vessel through which a client's
ideas can be visualized and molded into reality - with guidance when necessary.
- In life, it means finding the energy within myself to go the extra mile for someone
when I don't have any energy left, and furthermore, to go that extra mile with the
same intensity as if I had all the energy in the world. It means listening &
keeping an open mind when everyone else is busy talking. It means thinking before
acting. It means being responsible and dependable. Most importantly, it means having
the strength of character to confront the tough times head on and work through them,
rather than around them.
